Thanksgiving Makeup | Teen Edition

Nov 23, 2016

Hi, everybody! Today I have a lovely makeup look for you. This was inspired by my Thanksgiving party I am going to. Personality, I usually don't wear a lot of makeup. Most days I just put mascara on and call it a day but when the occasion is fancier, I like to add a little bit more. I used my Nudes Palette for my eyes. My idea was a golden, shimmery eye. Using the lightest shade, I applied it to my whole eyelid  and in the corner. Then using the sixth eye color in the palette (its light gold with sparkles in it) I applied it to the upper part of my eyelid. After that, I used the seventh color (it's a darker gold) and brushed it along my eyelid shape. I used just a simple e.l.f professional Defining Eye brush for the whole eye look. Then I used my eyeliner to do a simple wing. My lip color is called So Sienna. It's a 24 Hour Superstay lipgloss. I really like this look , it makes me look older but, not too old! :)

I hope you enjoy this blog post! If you are going somewhere this Thanksgiving break, tell me in the comments! I would love to know. Also, watch out for this week. I will be posting a couple more posts this week for Thanksgiving. ;) Also, some really big news! I am going to be doing Blogmas this year! YAY!! This is when I post a new post every day up to the 24th of December. Its very much like Vlogmas, Youtubers do.

DIY Agate Inspired Coaster

Aug 16, 2016

I have recently been scrolling through my Pinterest and have come across these agate coasters. I know they can be really expensive to buy so I decided to DIY them! If you like these coasters and want to find out how to make them keep on reading!

The Supplies:
Acrylic rolling pin
Different colors of polymer (oven baked) clay! I will give you more information about this further down in the blog post.
Gold craft paint
Small tipped paint brush
Safe oven tray to bake the coasters in

The special supply that will make your coaster look more realistic to an actual agate rock slate is translucent polymer clay! This can be found at your local craft store. For me, I have Michael's. This is an important supply if you want to make yours look realistic. If you prefer not to use it that will be fine!

For the polymer clay, I chose clay that was in my color scheme. I used a few different colors, mixing them to create more colors, too. You can have tons of colors or just stick to two. It's really your chose. I also added some fine glitter to some of the balls to make them more sparkly.

Step 1:

Start to form your different groups of clay. I decided I wanted to create three so I spit my clay balls into three piles.

Step 2:

Roll your clay balls into long fat strips. Squish them lightly together like shown below.

Step 3:

Start to twist your fat logs together and mix them.

Tip: After twisting the logs together bend the clay down and then ball the clay up again. Repeat until you like the color and mixture of the clay. Also, make sure not to completely blend the clay together. Most likely it will turn out to be an ugly color so try to only do this process 3-5 times.

Step 4:

After you combine the clay together, roll the mixture together in one ball. Pick the side you would like to see on the front. For me, it was this really pretty chunk.

Step 5:

Take your rolling pin and flatten your ball BUT you need to only flatten it a little bit. You don't want it to be too thick or too thin.
This is what mine turned out to be!

Step 6:

Place all of your coasters in a safe oven pan. I am using a pie pan my dad lets me borrow. Also, make sure to line your pan with a sheet of non-stick parchment paper.

Step 7:

Bake according to your clay package. If you are having trouble finding your clay instructions then check either the top of bottom of the plastic. It should be there somewhere! :)

Step 8:

Let your coasters cool for the whole time. Then take your gold paint and brush and start to paint the edge of your coasters. Use your small tip brush. That's why you didn't want a coaster that was too thick or thin. You will need a few coats. I believe I had about 4-5 coats, letting the paint dry fully before painting on the next coat.

Step 9: (Optional)

If you want to go an extra step add a coat of protector to your coasters for a nice finish. This is also an important step if you want to use these as drink coasters. You don't want the water to ruin your work. I am using Sculpey gloss glaze specifically for polymer clay. I believe you can use Mod Podge if you have that. (I am not 100% sure so I will update this post when I find something)

That's It!

How to : Generally be more Happier

Mar 2, 2016

My friends always ask me, "why are you always so happy and cheerful?" Usually, I answer "I don't know. I just am!" Personally, I don't think there is really one big great way to just be happy all the time. I think what happens around you and what you do with your day has an effect on how you act. I like to think that the happier you are the better outcome of your day. Even if it is pouring rain and dark and gray,  you still have the option for that best day ever. I know I have some of those days at school. Just a simple thing like a nice compliment or nice wave in the morning to that neighbor you don't really know can change your day! All of those small things turn into something bigger. Today, I have come up with some ways you can try out and use in your life for being happy!

Here are my tips and tricks for being more happier!
1. Try something new
Never shy away from a new activity. The thought might be scary at first but
the outcome will benefit you as a whole! Some might say, "Challenge excepted!"

2. Don't be afraid to be you
Don't hide away the imperfect stuff. That makes you, you!

3. Have some alone time once in a while
It's nice to just have some you time every now and then. I know when I need my alone time. You don't want your unhappiness get in the way!
4. Smile
Yes, it's that simple. Just smile! :) It uses little muscle and it can change your whole day!

5. Help others out
I personally feel amazing inside when I do something good for someone else. It doesn't matter if someone saw you do it or not; it's the outcome that matters.

6. Laugh at yourself!
Laughing is the best medicine. For me, I challenge myself every day to laugh at something or myself (mostly myself! ;)

I hope you enjoyed my list of my tips and tricks on being more happier. If you have any tips please comment them below so we can all share our happy tips with each other!
