Outsiders Day

Jun 1, 2016

I have always enjoyed the days we get to dress up at school. Wearing something that you wouldn't always wear to school on a normal basis. This year we read the Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. This book is now one of my all-time favorite books ever! Outsiders has everything, from rumbles between the two different social groups to fighting for what's right, Outsiders is definitely a book to read. Having said that, 7th graders took the day to dress up as either a Soc or a Greaser (I was a Greaser!) and play some fun games. Lucky, I was with  an amazing team and we all come on top. Probably my favorite activity was when we had to create a tower for one of the main characters to sit on top of. In the end, my team won but just because all the other team's towers fell down. Haha! :)
For my outfit, I decided to wear a biker type jacket over a white plain shirt I got at Marshalls. For my bottoms, I went with my classic Aeropostale skinny jeans and a red handkerchief tucked in my back pocket. But to sum the whole outfit up I wore my all-time favorite black sandals by Steve Madden. I wore my hair in a side braid with hairs coming out because Greasers NEVER wear their hair all nice and tight. ;)
In the end, I had a very nice day battling it out with the Socs and I totally recommend reading Outsiders. You will not be disappointed.
