Throw Back: Halloween Party 2015

Feb 16, 2016

Hey guys! Here are some photos of my Halloween party from last year. I had so much fun setting up and planning all the little details. My friends and I have already come up with a group costume for this year and Halloween is in 257 days! Crazy! I think my favorite part about having this party was trick-or-treating with a really awesome outfit. But, also bobbing for apples afterward. It was so funny and we ended up just getting really wet and laughing our heads off. (Good times :p) I can't wait for this year's party and fun new memories!

Thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed a fun throwback!

Teacher's Gift

Feb 10, 2016

The other day one of my favorite middle school teacher's birthday was celebrated, so my friends and I decided to make her a handmade gift. As you might guess she loves the Florida Gators! *CHOMP,CHOMP*
We knew from the start what our inspiration was, but the question was, what should we make for her gift? Luckily, I came up with an idea to make her a sign (that she wanted so badly) to hold up when a fire drill happens at our school. Flash forward to the day we came together to create what you see in the pictures above.
Our final outcome was a Gator-colored sign with her name on the front with large silver letters and on the back was the word "QUIET!" underlined in rhinestones. Then, the mason jar that was holding the sign, had Reeses mini cups (her favorite) and a large Gator logo with a little orange ribbon tied in a bow. On the back of the mason jar, there was a Forida State with the saying GO GATORS! Finally, the card had a wooden gator, which I found at Michaels for only $0.40 and said "Happy Chomping Birthday". We ended up putting it all in a bag with a cute little flying gator and added a couple of extra goodies to give her. I just want to say I am so proud of my amazing friends for working with me to craft an amazing gift for an awesome teacher. Thank you.

I hope you enjoyed my peek into the gift I made my teacher and if you have any suggestions or questions for me, leave them in the comments.

Chinese New Year Celebrations 2016

Feb 9, 2016

Happy Chinese New Year! This year's Chinese Zodiac sign is the monkey. Here is my attempt to create the Chinese character of the word monkey!
Today, my family went out to get Chinese food. Yummy! Personally, I don't like Chinese food, which is funny because I am Chinese ;) but I do love some steaming dumplings with soy sauce. That's my go-to meal.

Here are a couple of books I have that are Chinese related. My favorite is Good Luck, Ivy. It's a fun easy read and there are a couple of illustrations, too.

These are my little Chinese dresses I used to wear. My family got them when they came to China to adopt me. Both are made with silk and bought at a local Chinese shop. I have multiple dresses in different colors with other designs on them. One time I wore my blue silk dress to preschool on Chinese New Year!

Here is my little squeaky shoe. I used to walk around in these and they would squeak like a dog toy. You could always tell where I was! I still can't believe my feet were that tiny when I was younger.

I hope you enjoyed my post on Chinese New Year! Sorry, it was short but it is always fun to share my younger childhood with you.
